Yes, the title says “Yarn Lamp”. I don’t know where you get these, but they do come in green. Maybe you even get the ball of yarn on the counter top? I think the hanging string is extra.

wall-storage

Hipsters.. I kind of like this wall storage unit. There is room for a not so big screen. There are also places to store books and nicknack’s etc. There is even storage for your CD collection that is quickly becoming obsolete. If you peek way down below there are even boxes to stash your shoes, so Mom won’t yell “Muffy Smith put your shoes away!!!!” We don’t have a Muffy in our house, but you never know where you will find one and have to bring it home?

This is the result of opening the doors of the above cabinet. EVERYTHING you could store in your kitchen as long as it fits their design. How often does that happen? You be the judge.

This is an idea that I first noticed when done by Bulthaup. I am not sure which company did it first.

This was an interesting idea. The company took 2 drawer systems and applied 1 drawer panel…The look was very clean and
horizontal. The downside was you had to open up a rather huge drawer every time you wanted something. ….

Hipsters this is something almost new. Appliance handles on your kitchen cabinets. They are REALLY big and easy to grab. I am not so sure I liked the in your face look but some of the cabinet companies are using them.

2013-colors-1

Hello Hipsters, here are the new kitchen colors for 2013!! Get out your design books and take notes. Each year “the kitchen industry” in Europe hires a company or two to come up with THE new colors for the year.

As some companies use other “colorists”the colors picked will vary from kitchen company to kitchen company. I think it is interesting that European kitchen companies really do their research about what we, the consumer, think will be a great new color for the year.

Here is another fact that you may find interesting. Europeans change their kitchens every 5-7 years. People in the USA only change their kitchens once every 15-20 years. That Hipsters is why your kitchen is looking like dog stuff. The wood from the 80’s is faded and white in spots. The paint is chipped and YELLOW. The drawers that used to glide won’t glide anymore. This is also why when people come into our showroom, in Pasadena, California, they look at me like I am David Copperfield. I show them LED lights in the drawers. We also have soft close 39 inch drawers with wood dividers.

The kitchen companies in the USA don’t seem to do this as pine, oak and white paint don’t change much they just age badly. But hey maybe the USA kitchen companies will go crazy and use Maple instead of Walnut this year. Sad but true.
